INKTOBER: It's a wrap

Well this is it.  October 31st, the last day of the month long Inktober challenge.  Even though I've had some great feedback for my pieces, I feel like I didn't push myself to the way I did last year.  Mainly because so much of my energy was spent working through my grief and just trying to sort myself out.  All in all it was still fun.  Time to see what the rest of the holiday season has in store!

INKTOBER IS UPON US Pt. 2

Anybody enjoying Inktober as much as I am? I got a few inquiries as what it was, so I thought I'd use this blog to elaborate. Inktober is essentially a drawing challenge wherein every October, artists all over the world do one ink drawing a day the entire month, going 31/31 ( I'm more than halfway through and I've only missed one day!) Anyone can do InkTober, just pick up a pen and start drawing. When you post, just throw it up with the hashtag inktober or inktober2014.  SIMPLE AS THAT :D

The past can and DOES destroy

I really wish I had something to write for you guys. Something profound or motivational...but the truth is there really isn't much going on. The job search sucks balls and there isn't much that can be done...I just do what I know right now, and that staying at the drawing board, dropping my info off where I can and HOPING someone likes what I do enough to offer me work...feels like this dream of my is on life support.  When I was 17 I wanted to attend the Kubert School. For an artist who wanted to go into comics or animation or any type of design, this was definitely one of the places to be.  To me it would have been nirvana. The mountain top.  Instead I let my parents, particularly my father, intimidate me into attending a 'regular' four year school. Even now that he's dead I still hate him for that. I hate myself even more for being such a coward at the time...It's hard not to forget the past when you realize the choice you made then is slowly destroying you now. Now that you've all had quick peek into my head and heart, here's some new art:

ART JOURNAL: OCTOBER

This past Friday attending a poetry slam with a friend in Charlotte. It's the third one I've been to and once again they all ripped it down.  I have a few verbal scribbles posted here (VERY early posts) but it's not something I really have a flare for; all the same these ladies and gentlemen continue to nudge me ever closer to writing again.

Still having issues finding steady gigs, manage to pay my rent, phone AND lights all by the skin of my teeth. Hopefully I can this UPS position and get a little breathing room.  That's pretty much where I am in life.

I spent all of last month painting, a means coping with the loss of my mother, I produced at least 20 and what you see below will be the last, at until I scrape enough together to buy a few more canvases.  These piece will soon be on sale at Fine Art America along with other artists.
